This time of year sees the Welshman and me busy with parties and get togethers and functions – unfortunately not usually together. On Saturday night, we had a fab night with friends – great food, great conversation, great quantities of alcohol … you know the drill.
What I wore for Xmas drinks with friends was this fabulous Country Road maxi skirt in orange and beige, which I’ve teamed with a Country Road seam free tank in raspberry. I just love red and orange tones together. I’ve added a Leona Edmiston belt to define my waist. Elastic waistbands are not kind to anyone, but especially unpleasant on ladies with tummies.
I’ve popped a little Sportsgirl jacket in peachy beige with fluttery sleeves and studded shoulder panels over the top. I’m debuting a fabulous statement faux coral necklace in red and gold that I purchased from one of my favourite shops, Bella Emporio. It’s been waiting for the perfect outfit and a special occasion.
Just love the orangey red and gold combination – so powerful. Appeals to my inner Leo. I’ve nicknamed it my Warrior Woman piece.
I’m carrying my tan leather Miu Miu tote. Sometimes a girl just needs more stuff than you can squeeze into a clutch. In the interests of comfort, I’m wearing my favourite Seed Femme tan leather wedge platform sandals. A wedge heel or a flat is essential to balance the floatiness of a full maxi skirt. Also an excellent OH&S safety precaution – I tried high heels and kept spiking the hem of the skirt, and dacking myself. Not a good look!
Do you like to wear red and orange together? Any issues with public dacking you’d care to share? Or is that just me?
